Rooted in innovation science with proven results (the Original Blood-Based Livestock Pregnancy Test)
Developed using research conducted by Dr. Garth Sasser while at the University of Idaho and first commercially applied by cattle producers in 2002, BioPRYN is the first blood-based livestock pregnancy test. BioPRYN measures the amount of Pregnancy-Specific Protein B (PSPB) in the blood of an animal. The placenta of the growing fetus produces PSPB throughout the duration of the pregnancy.
Accurate Detection to Improve the Bottom Line
BioPRYN is accurate throughout gestation. A ewe can be tested for pregnancy at 30 days or later post-breeding or ram removal. A doe can be tested for pregnancy at 30 days or later post-breeding or buck removal.
Using BioPRYN assures accuracy and improves management insights
BioPRYN is over 99% accurate when the test categorizes a ewe or doe as open. By identifying open females with 99% assurance, producers and veterinarians can confidently re-breed or market open animals. As a result, BioPRYN can be implemented early in the pregnancy (30 days past breeding) to save money.
